To screenshot a 3D model, open it in the 3D model viewer, frame the angle you want, choose a background, and click the PNG button. The image is rendered and saved on your device, with nothing uploaded.
Here is how to get a good one.
Frame the model
Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, and right-drag to pan until the model sits well in the frame. A slight three-quarter angle, showing the front and one side, usually reads better than a flat straight-on view, because it conveys depth. Use Reset if you lose the model and want to start again from a clean framing.
Pick a background
The viewer offers three backgrounds:
- Studio (dark), good for a portfolio piece or a social post, where you want the model to pop.
- Light (soft grey), a neutral, gentle backdrop.
- White, ideal for product listings, documents and anywhere you want the model to sit cleanly on a page.
Choose the one that matches where the image will end up.
Turn off the grid if you want a plain shot
The helper grid is useful for judging scale, but for a clean product-style image you may want it off. Toggle Grid before you capture.
Save the PNG
Click PNG and the current view downloads as an image. It is captured at your screen’s resolution, so for the sharpest result, maximise the browser window first, then frame and capture.
Capture as many as you like
There is no limit and no sign-up, so grab several angles or backgrounds and keep the best. To start, open the 3D model viewer and drop in your file.
